Professional portfolio websites

If you are a chef or a head of department yacht crew, you may be wanting to show off your skillset in a more creative way. I can offer a personalised custom portfolio-style website that does just that.

  • Include a downloadable PDF of your CV.
  • Showcase your guest or crew menus.
  • Link to your other social media.
  • Own your own .com domain name.
  • Show your creative table settings, flower arrangements and napkin folds.
  • Chefs can publish high-quality food photos within their portfolio.
  • Create a personalised email address with your domain for a more professional stance.
  • Embed or upload videos of your work.
  • Optional blog pages, recipe pages and more!

What I will need from you

Once your first payment has been made, I will need more information from you. If you can provide your current CV and menus, I can attach these to your website. You will also need to write additional blurbs, something to introduce yourself to the viewer and to help them get to know you better. The more you can write about yourself, the better! I can always edit the information you give me, but unless I know you personally, I cannot make this part up for you.

Plenty of photos of your food will also be required, so make sure you have a decent library of shots to choose from. They don’t have to be super professional, but of course, the better they look, the better your website will look. After all, this is a visual representation of you and your work.

If you do have any work related videos or extra information, that would be great too.

The boring bits that we have to mention

The not so fine print

Domain names will be purchased on your behalf, and are only “owned” for 12 months. You must pay annually to keep domain names, but we can set this up as a recurring fee, or contact you before it is due to expire to extend ownership. We can also transfer this domain to you at a later date if you wish to manage your website yourself.

Hosting is provided through our preferred hosting company. We currently offer a shared hosting package as standard, however if you wish for a dedicated hosting package, please contact us for rates. It is advised to stick to shared hosting for small websites such as these, but the option is there if you want to splash the cash and go with dedicated hosting.

Email addresses are free with unlimited mailbox sizes. These can be linked to your current email address so a duplicate email gets sent to your regular inbox, or I can assist you with setting up Gsuite , which is a subscription-based Gmail application.

A non-refundable deposit of €650 is required to start the process for your portfolio website. A further €650 is required on completion of the website. Once this has been paid your website will “go live” and be able to be viewable to the public.

A portfolio website can take between 5-10 days to complete, depending on the number of changes to make and how quickly I can communicate with you. A mockup of your website can be achieved within 3 days in most instances, and from there we can tweak your preferences such a font, colours, image placements and additional text.

Yacht Crew Website Samples

Sample websites

I have been working with various websites and small businesses designing websites for several years now. Below are some of my current projects and websites that I am designing, managing or running.

www.rachelcunninghamcv.com This is my own website to show captains my work as a chef. It’s a nice clean ands basic site with all of the information the captains or owners might need to see before interviewing me. It also shows the branded CV and menus which would be included for other chefs wanting this sort of thing.

www.chefnickpaterson.com Is one of my clients. His website was set up to help advertise his upcoming cookbook, and also to showcase his chef work for potential employers on land and for yachts. It was built to his specifications and the layout he wanted.

www.yachtchefwebsites.com is another website. It is a newer theme and is heavy on images. This is perfect for yacht chefs who have a large portfolio of food shots to show off. I can customise this in many different ways, this is just a sample of one option using stock photographs and information.

I have also worked with www.thesuperyachtchef.com designing and working on the backend of the website. I currently manage the site and also set it up from scratch several years ago. If you are looking for a complete website build for something as big as this, get in touch regarding pricing as this is more complicated than a portfolio website.

My travel blog is also self-managed and I designed it myself. You can see more at www.roundtheworldrachel.com this layout is more excessive than a yacht crew member will need. But, hopefully, it shows you the scope of my work and what can be achieved.
